Carla joined other Democratic candidates running for office at the 50th Ward (West Oak Lane) Petition Party on March 9. They could mingle with the public and other candidates and get signatures for their petitions. Just one of the routes Carla took to almost 4,100 signatures, most of any City Commissioner candidate. Over 200 people attended. Ninth-District Councilwoman Cherelle Parker—up for re-election herself—is the Ward Leader of the 50th.
